Chronicle of Higher Education: MIT Course Takes Students Abroad to Test Management Strategies

Second-year M.B.A. students at MIT traveled to far-flung parts of the world to put their theories into action this year, then regrouped to share the lessons they had learned in the field.

While one team of students was in New Zealand advising a consortium of vineyards, another was in China working with a start-up venture-capital company. A third was in India, examining ways to tap into the cellphone market, while a fourth was in Indonesia, helping craft importers keep track of their earnings.

And back home in Cambridge, Mass., a team was coming up with a loan plan and other incentives to make the MIT campus more environmentally friendly. Read more…
