The following year, to support its planned launch in Kenya, Daktari engaged a student team to explore the company’s options for supply chain, service, maintenance, and training that would best enable the novel machine to reach patients in need of testing. Over 14 in-depth stakeholder interviews in two cities in Kenya provided perspectives on its evolving healthcare system. The team also drew on interviews to evaluate potential implementing partners for Daktari. After detailed analysis of their data, the students suggested that the firm implement a hybrid strategy for its supply chain, training, and servicing by building some of its own operations and partnering with a private distributor for others.
